Jillian Evelyn: 'Solitary' at Artists Republic Gallery

Artists Republic just opened Jillian Evelyn's first solo exhibition with the gallery, Solitary. In this exhibition Jillian created balanced and poppy compositions with the man subjecting being contorted female figures, forcing them to fit within the constraints of her canvas. Perhaps a commentary on trying to fit into the norms of society. The exhibition will run through October 1, 2017. 

Wang & Söderström for adidas EQT

We've been following the work for Anny Wang for a while and she recently started her own studio, Wang & Söderström, with Tim Söderström. The duo was invited by Swedish retailer Sneakersnstuff to debut their exclusive adidas EQT silhouette. Sneakersnstuff put together a great behind the scenes piece about Wang & Söderström's creative process and creating the campaign for their latest release.

Word. Notebooks: Firework Series

Every Summer around this time we see all sorts of things getting veneered with American Flags to "celebrate" Fourth of July. Today we're relieved to see Word. Notebooks taking the higher road, to commemorate Fourth of July 2016 they've commissioned an impressive collection of artists for their Firework Series; Eric Kenney, Denton Watts, Emma Maatman, Luke Pelletier, and Jon Contino.

Martin Nicolausson is able blend digital and analogue with his bold and colorful illustration work. Based out of Stockholm, Martin has an impressive client list; Absolute Vodka, The EconomistThe New York TimesWallpaper*, and Transport for London, to name a few. In addition to his commercial work, Martin has an impressive personal portfolio, a lot of which is is available in his online store.

Anny Wang

3D illustration is on the rise and creative Anny Wang out of Copenhagen is a major front runner. Wang creates these dreamy, metallic, pastel, '90s beach-house, psychedelic compositions with a program she discovered in college, MODO. What began as messing about to teach herself 3D modeling, Wang turned these studies into a unique style drawing clients like Opening Ceremony.

Flourish by Dana Tanamachi-Williams

You might find Dana Tanamachi-Williams listening to country music or collecting vintage packaging for inspiration while she works on any given number of projects within her newly-formed Brooklyn-based design firm. Tanamachi Studio started modestly, but now Dana is adding clients like Oprah, Time Magazine, Nike, Burton, Target, and even Google to her roster. —Brent Gentile

Clay Hickson

Based in Chicago, IL, Clay Hickson is a free lance illustrator who has done work for Bloomberg View, The Fader Magazine, Editorial Magazine, AQQ Design, to name a few. Hickson's style is a fusion of pop-surrealism, the 1990's, and occasionally breakfast. In addition to his freelance career, Hickson also runs a print shop known as Tan & Loose. Operated out of an old funeral home in Chicago, Tan & Loose specializes in creating limited edition artist books and prints.
